Micromesh Concrete – No More Messy Meshes

Heidelberg Materials' Micromesh Concrete eliminates the need for steel reinforcing in certain Non – structural applications. It allows considerable cost, labour and time reductions over an average job. Apart from the obvious steel cost reduction, Micromesh Concrete will deliver a quality finished product with a reduction in time spent on site. It is not a substitute for reinforcing mesh in all cases, but our Technical Department would be happy to advise you on the correct applications and use.

Technical Considerations

Micromesh Concrete gives improved toughness, impact and abrasion resistance and improved water tightness (Impermeability).
It should not be laid on highly reactive soils or silty and clay material. An excellent subgrade for Micromesh Concrete is gravel or sandy gravel.
The minimum thickness for footpaths is 80mm and for driveways, slab on ground to have minimum thickness of 100mm.
Well compacted subbase is recommended. Provision should be made for 50mm sand bed under the slab to reduce ground to concrete shrinkage.
Control joints spacing must not exceed 3 metres and joint depth should be at least ¼ of slab thickness. Panels should not exceed a length to width ratio of 2.

Sure-Set Concrete is a guaranteed setting time system for concrete. It is ideal for applications to reduce setting time and can also be used in warmer or cold weather if set time is important.
Sure-Set Concrete is a product of Hanson’s research and technical design and therefore information on Sure-Set’s formula/mix designs cannot be disclosed.

How it Works

You can place your order and nominate the desired strength and setting time.
Heidelberg Materials sales managers will advise the appropriate system level (either Gold, Silver or Bronze) dependent on the ambient temperature.

Watex– Your Waterproofing Concrete Solution

Our waterproofing concrete systems are designed to meet specific requirements and give customers flexibility in the choice of system that best suits their needs. Watex contains admixtures which reduce pore size and isolates the capillary pores thereby reducing permeability and improving water tightness characteritics.

Watex Gold is similar to Watex but enhanced with microfibers which reduce plastics shrinkage cracks and provides even reinforcing throughout the concrete. It also reduces bleed water and eliminates the use of welded fabric in certain applications. The combination of fibre and admixture increases permeability resistance.
